First Time on Kickstarter? Here’s How it Works | RuneScape Kingdoms

Welcome to the world of Gielinor, ‘Scaper! It’s awesome to have you with us on this incredible quest to bring RuneScape Kingdoms to life on the tabletop.

How to Pledge

1. Choose a reward, or ‘pledge level’, from the right-hand side of the page.

    Every pledge level includes a list of items you’ll get if you pledge at that level. (You can find a full explanation of all the pledge levels on the Kickstarter page, too.)

    2. Confirm your chosen pledge level.

    3. Customise your pledge with any optional add-ons you’d like to buy.

    Some add-ons might already be included in your pledge, so be sure to check the reward description, unless you want extra copies! If you see any add-ons you want, click ‘Add’ to add them to your pledge. This will update your pledge total.

    4. Click ‘Continue’, check the amount, and click ‘Pledge’.

    Congratulations, ‘Scaper! Welcome to an adventure unlike any you’ve experienced before…

    What Happens Next?

    Around 4-6 weeks after the campaign ends, you’ll get an email inviting you to the pledge manager, where you can — you guessed it — manage your pledge! 

    Once you’ve accepted the invitation, you can confirm or upgrade your pledge level, confirm or add any add-ons, pay for shipping, and confirm your delivery address.

    Shipping is charged after the campaign, based on your location.

    For the regions listed as ‘friendly shipping’, we cover any VAT duties or sales tax charges, so those are accounted for in the pledge price and shipping estimations. Backers in other regions will be liable for any VAT or sales taxes which might be applied in their own countries. 

    Either way, there will be no extra costs for VAT charged by us in the pledge manager.

    What is Kickstarter?

    Kickstarter is a platform where you can support creative projects (by “backing” them) to help bring them to life. It’s a popular platform in the tabletop gaming space, and is a fantastic way to grow communities and connect backers and creators.  

    RuneScape Kingdoms: Shadow of Elvarg is being brought to Kickstarter by us here at Steamforged Games. We’re working closely with Jagex to make sure we bring this rich universe to the tabletop in a way that feels authentic to both RuneScape and Old School RuneScape.     Is the Game Final?

    Our tabletop quest is just beginning and by backing the Kickstarter, you can be part of it! 

    Like many board game Kickstarters, we’ve brought RuneScape Kingdoms to Kickstarter before all the gameplay and component visuals are final, to give you the chance to tell us what you think. Once the Kickstarter ends, we’ll share the journey to the final game in the Kickstarter updates.

    How Do I Get the Game?

    To support the RuneScape Kingdoms Kickstarter campaign and get the game, you ‘back’ or ‘pledge’ at one of the available levels. Every Kickstarter campaign offers different pledge levels that include different rewards. 

    RuneScape Kingdoms: Shadow of Elvarg has three pledge levels: Core, Gameplay All-in, and Deluxe All-in. To see what’s included in each pledge level, check out the Kickstarter page.

    What Are ‘Add-ons’?

    Add-ons are optional rewards you can choose to add to your pledge, like gameplay expansions (which add new gameplay content to your game) and cosmetic expansions (which add deluxe component upgrades, like neoprene mats and wooden tokens). 

    Once you’ve chosen your pledge level (covered in ‘How to Pledge’ above), you can mix and match add-ons in the ‘Configure reward’ screen.

    Or, if you want it all, just choose the Deluxe All-in Pledge to get everything in the Core Pledge plus all of the Add-ons for an exclusive discount! And if you still want extras, you can also add add-ons to your Deluxe All-in Pledge.

    Kickstarter Exclusive Content!

    Any content marked with a green ‘K’ banner is exclusive to Kickstarter backers, which means backing the Kickstarter campaign is the best way to get that content.
